Kathryn “Katie” Russell announced today that she is running to secure the First Selectwoman position in Deep River in the November 7, 2023, municipal election.

​

Kathryn is entering the race as an experienced business executive who has held leadership roles in Fortune 100 companies.  She holds a BA from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Wharton.  If elected, she promises to use her business and management skills to:


 

  • Preserve and enhance Deep River’s unique quality of life

  • Foster a business-friendly environment

  • Manage the Town budget effectively

  • Ensure transparency and accountability

  • Transform town services to be citizen-oriented


 

“My goal is to make Deep River affordable for families and retirees. I will respect our past and strategically plan for a brighter future.” says Russell

Russell is the niece of Emy and Reynold Marvin. Emy Marvin served Deep River as Selectwoman for three terms in the 1980s and was a driving force behind the renovation of the Deep River Town Hall.

​

Russell currently serves on the Deep River Public Library Board, is a member of Deep River Rotary, and served on the taskforce shaping Deep River’s Affordable Housing Plan. She has owned an older home in Deep River for two decades and is known for lovingly tending a large vegetable garden each Summer.

Russell encourages voters to “Choose an experienced business professional who listens, cares and makes things happen.”
